If you’re a fan of Sex and the City, you’ll remember Samantha’s red raw face after a chemical peel.  Thankfully, treatments have come a long way since then.  Here at Milk Face Place & Spa we are seeing an increased amount of clients walking through our clinic doors looking to slough off the mottled snake skins of summer and autumn.

The key reason we offer peels is because, as skin ages, cell turnover slows down and so it takes longer for the skin to regenerate.  By helping to exfoliate in a more accelerated way with the use of resurfacers/peels we are stimulating the underlying cells of the lower epidermis to regenerate new skin, skin looks healthier.

Even clients in their 20s can get an accumulation of cells on the surface of the skin, which give a dull and muddy complexion, that make’s it look unhealthy and …older!!

Peels, can also be extremely effective weapons in combatting stubborn conditions much as acne and pigmentation, both of which typically get worse in the peak-sun season.

Peels have evolved dramatically and are now a vital weapon in the modern aesthetics armoury, involving minimal, if (albeit there could be dryness and flaking for about a week, depending on the strength of the formula).  But, your Milk Professional will accertain the most suitable peel available for your skin type and condition, inorder to provide maximum results.

We offer customised Peel/Resurfacing Packages that can be prescribed by your Milk Therapist, most light to medium peels require 6 peels over a 3 month period to see optimum results.

Often referred to as ‘lunchtime peels’, you can return to work or regular activities directly afterwards. Done in a series, they can improve mild to moderately severe acne by keeping dead cells and excess oil from clogging the hair follicle. They will also soften the look of fine lines and wrinkles, even out skin texture and fade discolourations.

Use of exfoliators and products containing retinoids (vitamin A derivatives) in the week leading up to the peel or for a short while afterwards as they will further irritation and potential damage to the skin. You Milk professional will advise on all relevant aftercare and homecare including SPF which is imperative as skin will be more sensitive to UV rays.
